Kristen Mercado, LCSW-R has over a decade of experience in direct clinical practice across the tri-state area. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, Kristen received her bachelor's degree from Brown University and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Hunter College. 

Kristen specializes in anxiety, trauma, and working with those trying therapy for the first time. Stylistically, she brings integrity, humor, and a lot of personality to her clients. Her treatment focus most often addresses difficult life events such as abuse, loss of loved one, divorce, school problems, and the lifelong impact of childhood trauma. As a Latina therapist, Kristen understands the importance of cultural competency and humility when helping others explore their histories and their futures. Kristen is nationally certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
